Morning Star can seem like a really huge church, especially if you are visiting for the first time. That’s why we have a Connection Team. This awesome group of people gets to call and connect with our guests here at Morning Star, because with so many wonderful faces here, one might feel unnoticed at times (and that is exactly what we do our best to avoid). One of Morning Star’s big-time goals is to make sure that each and every person is especially acknowledged, welcomed, and prayed for if needed. The very people who attend here are the ones who help make that happen, and are joyful to do so!  With the help of our Connection Team, visitors learn more about Morning Star, get to know us, and we get to know them, too!

“I love having the opportunity to welcome people to Morning Star. My family and I have attended Morning Star since 2005. We enjoy our involvement with a Community Group and encourage others to join a group if they are not already involved in one. It’s a great way to get to know people. I hope that you will find a way to get plugged in too so that Morning Star can become your church family.” – Cindy Culpovich

“I enjoy the Welcome Caller Ministry because, as a people person, it gives me the opportunity to reach out to the new attendees to show our appreciation by personally welcoming them and thanking them for attending. A friendly voice on the other end of the phone allows me to demonstrate who we are at Morning Star Community Church. I am a Real Estate Broker and a lifelong resident of Salem. I’m also an avid table tennis player, and have been attending Morning Star  for 12 years.” – Rocky Nordone

“I have been in Salem and happily married to my wife Carmen for 31 years, and have been at Morning Star for about 16 years. It’s been awesome to witness all of the different ministries here be a help and a blessing to my family and others. The quality of ministry that takes place here is superb, and I enjoy helping others get connected into our family of servants. My wife and I have three extraordinary grandchildren, and I love helping her with her flowers and gardening!” - Larry Courtain

“Our family has attended Morning Star for about seven years. We started attending because our then middle-schooler visited the youth group and enjoyed it so much that we came to check things out for ourselves. We fell in love with the awesome teaching from the pastors and the great worship time. Over the years we have been involved in Community Groups and several Bible studies. I have been blessed to be part of the Connection Team for almost two years and I love welcoming visitors and sharing about Morning Star. Our daughter just graduated from high school and we are about to become empty nesters this fall. My hobbies are gardening, walking and reading.” -Phyllis Arthur

“My husband of 30 years and I have attended Morning Star since 1986; our three adult sons grew up in the fellowship. I am a special education teacher and I enjoy traveling, cycling, gardening and home improvement projects. I have been part of the Connection Team since it began at Morning Star. Although I am “serving” in this ministry, I’ve also been blessed, as God has used me through the calls. Many times I have spoken with people who have backgrounds and/or needs that are specific to my own life experiences; this has opened up opportunities for ministry and prayer. This ministry has been a wonderful opportunity for me to serve the Body of Christ from my home.” -Diane DiPasquale
