Men’s Ministries

“Stratos” is a Greek word which means “encamped army.” If there ever was a need for an encamped army of soldiers for the cause of Jesus Christ, now is the time! The Apostle Paul writes in his letter to a fellow soldier and son in the faith─Timothy, “suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier” (2 Timothy 2:3,4).

We as Christian men of Morning Star Community Church are an encamped army, available to Jesus Christ to lead our families, set the pace in the workforce, and impact our society and communities for our Lord and Savior─Jesus Christ. We are Stratos.

Stratos Events

STRATOS BREAKFASTS
Eighty to one hundred men meet quarterly at Morning Star for a catered breakfast, fellowship, worship, and devotion.

RETREAT
Stratos Men’s Retreat is held each year in the spring. The retreat is geared for spiritual renewal, fellowship, friendship, and prayer . . . plus there is always great food and a variety of free-time activities.

CONFERENCES
Regularly scheduled Men’s Conferences, in both the Salem and Portland areas, offer weekends of spiritual challenge and growth.

RIVER RAFTING
This annual white-water raft trip down the Deschutes is for men who love to sleep under the summer stars, dare the rapids, and eat gourmet camp food.
