Five Ps

Seed

Jesus told about a sower who planted a seed that yielded a hundred-fold harvest.  The seed in His story is the Word of God.  Living and powerful. Capable of producing an astounding harvest in your life.  Author Priscilla Shirer applies her study method “The Five Ps of Hearing God Through the Bible” to guide you in personal meditation, prayerful observation, and listening for God’s voice in Scripture. You’ll walk away from this study with a revitalized relationship with the Lord and renewed interest for His Word. Plant a little seed, grow a big faith!

Precept  Upon Precept

Precept Upon Precept classes are in-depth, inductive studies that help you dig deep into God’s Word. Be inspired by daily personal study, in-class discussion, and video teaching by Kay Arthur. This quarter you will study:

Nehemiah – Rebuilding, Revival and Restoration of the People of God

How do you respond when the enemy tries to interfere with God’s clear direction? The enemies of God sought to frighten Nehemiah as he proceeded to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah shows us leadership and obedience in the face of opposition, as well as God’s miraculous blessing and provision.  Followed by:

Esther - A Man and a Woman for Such a Time As This

What is your purpose? God is always working in the affairs of His creation, even when we are unaware. This study shows us how Esther attained royalty to fulfill God’s purpose in her life and the lives of His people. Can God use you “for such a time as this”?

SPECIAL EVENTS

Belonging: Prayer and Praise Encounter

He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:4

Come away for a time of quiet worship and reflection, for an encounter with God. Learn to listen, learn to respond, learn to rest in His love.

This morning rendezvous blends our traditional Belonging Prayer Retreat with Encounter: Praise in the Night.  The premise and promise of Belonging is intimacy with God while Encounter leads you in a journey of praise and quietness. Combined, you will learn how to spend time with God simply by doing it.

If you long to worship the Lord, meditate on His Word, and hear from Him, then come. There are times of rich instruction and discussion with our speaker Ellene Boden, unhurried worship, lots of laughter with your sisters, and sweet time to talk with and listen to the One Who knows you best and loves you most.

Register or just drop in.  Please bring a light morning snack to share.  Brochures are available at the Information Center or church offices.  Girls in high school and beyond are welcome!

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Love In Action

Love in Action provides “911” assistance to those in need. This may be fixing and delivering a meal following the birth of a baby, during times of illness, or after a death in the family. It may be caring for a child or helping with housecleaning or yard work, home or car repair, or providing transportation to a doctor’s appointment. This is usually done on a one-time, short-notice basis.

Giving Your Time & Talents

We would love to have you join us in loving God by serving members of His body, people in our community, and those beyond our borders. Call the church offices for a complete list of needs, or visit morningstarchurch.com.
